Sublimely talented, uniquely versatile and operatically trained, Alex has the voice of an angel, the voice of a devil or the voice of anything in between.
Paul Burke - Writer/Producer/Director at AMV BBDO/Paul Burke Radio
Talented, versatile and a delight to work with. Easy to say, but working with Alex it’s absolutely true. Her talent is amazing! She creates a most impressive array of voices, filled with humour, heart, emotion and love, all at the drop of a hat. She is never fazed by director requests, able to shift and adapt as needed and that versatility is priceless.
But maybe and most importantly is that she is so great to work with, always charming, always happy and overflowing with energy that can be heard in the work she produces. Able to work under pressure, record solo or in an ensemble record, whatever the occasion demanded. Alex will always deliver.
Mark Taylor Co MD & Creative Director at A Productions
Alex has been instrumental in bringing our promos to life. Her quirkiness and approach to narration are the key elements to what makes our content work. I always write the script with her in mind as her voice is so synonymous with kids promos, but that being said, she is versatile enough, and will shine through with many different types of content.
Marvin Neo - BBC
Alex is by far and away one of the most gifted actors I've ever worked with. She's versatile, adaptable, patient, friendly, funny, consumately professional and quite frankly, a joy to be around. I'd work with her again any day of the week, and always recommend her to colleagues. Alex is a smasher!
Jackie Edwards - BFI
Alex is perhaps one of the most talented voice artists I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her voice range is quite unlike any other I've seen or heard. Her ability to change, in half a heartbeat, her tone, pace, note or anything else you could possibly ask of her, is incredible. Beyond her outstanding talent and ability, she's also a joy to direct, taking feedback and changes in her stride, and always with a smile. I cannot recommend Alex highly enough to take your work to the next level!
Adam Nel - Voice Director / Copywriter / Creative Director
She lets out a sigh of despair which, somewhere on it's warbling course, becomes an exclamation of greedy pleasure. What begins as a squeal of joy turns into a scream. She yells about her purity, while reaching out for riches; pinning on each new bead and bauble, she squeaks with pain and chuckles with delight. This is Cunegonde, the female lead of Leonard Bernstein's Candide, demonstrating the brilliance of Bernstein in her coloratura aria 'Glitter And Be Gay'. The swoops and dives of the aria, delivered by Alex Kelly with ornamental aplomb, is one of the hight points of the new production in the Olivier, directed by John Caird with Trevor Nunn. It is enough to persuade almost anyone of the point of musicals, with its ability to glide seamlessly from one emotion to another, and - with the bell-like soprano pitted against the sombre woodwinds - to say more than one thing at a time.
Susannah Clapp - Theatre Critic of the Observer
Alex Kelly is a highly original and extremely talented actress, with whom I have had the privilege of working with on several occasions, including my Oscar nominated film 'Vera Drake', in which Alex was highly praised on both sides of the Atlantic for her extraordinary and moving portrayal of the daughter, Ethel. Alex is a uniquely comitted and serious artist. She brings very special qualities to every project.
Mike Leigh - Film Director
As a voice coach singing teacher of considerable experience I can genuinely say that Alex has a huge talent as a singer. Her versatility is remarkable, a huge range and an ability to sing in any style needed. I have worked with her on many projects and have enjoyed her total commitment - she can sing with a ravishing, beautiful sound and equally well belt out a song of a different style. What I really love about Alex’s work is her ability to communicate with her singing voice, really Special. Unique to her is her ability with comedy and she can find every moment in a song that can seem quite bland and transform it. A modest treasure I am lucky to work with.
